Homicide & Unsolved

Homicide

The Middlesex District Attorney's Office has an outstanding tradition of successfully investigating and prosecuting homicide cases. Our team of experienced prosecutors and State Police investigators is dedicated to fighting on behalf of victims and their families, and bringing those who commit these heinous crimes to justice on behalf of those who have no voice.

Under Massachusetts law, the district attorney is the law enforcement official responsible for and in charge of controlling, directing and coordinating all death investigations with the medical examiner’s office and the corresponding local police department.  Accordingly, all matters related to death investigations must be coordinated through the DA's Office.

Unsolved Homicide Section

When District Attorney Leone took office, he established a new unsolved homicide system to reinvigorate the efforts to solve unsolved homicide cases. DA Leone assigned a team comprised of ADAs, State Police Detectives assigned to the office and Victim Witness Advocates to each unsolved case and tasked each of them to take a fresh look at the cases and determine what additional investigative avenues can be taken to solve them. Our hope is to solve these cases and bring those responsible to justice.

Periodically we will feature a different case here in an effort to bring renewed attention and information to the case
