Victims Identified In Fatal Shooting In Malden

Malden– Malden Police and State Police assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office are investigating a fatal shooting that took place early this morning, Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone and Malden Police Chief James Holland informed the public today.

At approximately 12:55 a.m. this morning, Malden police responded to 223 Salem Street for reports of three people shot.  Upon arrival, police discovered three male victims evidencing obvious gun shot wounds. The victims were transported to the hospital, where one victim was pronounced dead, the second victim placed on life support and the third victim hospitalized in stable condition.  

The victims have been identified as Virgilio Dipre, 19, of Boston, who was pronounced dead at Whidden Hospital; Lakeem Tombs, 18, of Boston, remains on life support at Massachusetts General Hospital; and Jerry Borque, 25, of Malden, remains in critical condition at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Malden Police and State Police assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office are conducting an investigation into the circumstances of the deaths. No one has been charged in connection with the incident at this time.

An autopsy will be conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (ME).
