Everett Man Arraigned In Connection To Everett Bank Robbery

EVERETT- An Everett man has been arraigned on armed assault with intent to murder and armed robbery charges in connection with a police-involved shooting incident that occurred in Everett, Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone informed the public today.
Mark Zraket, 43, of Everett, was arraigned at his hospital bed at Massachusetts General Hospital on charges of armed assault with intent to murder and armed robbery. Malden District Court Judge Lee Johnson held the defendant pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for September 8 in Malden District Court.
According to authorities, on August 31, at approximately 11:57 a.m., Everett Police responded to a reported bank robbery in progress at the Everett Co-Op Bank at 419 Broadway. When authorities arrived, the suspect fled on foot and a pursuit ensued.
When police encountered the subject, it is alleged that the suspect brandished a knife in a threatening manner causing concern for the safety of others. Everett Police subsequently discharged a firearm, striking the suspect. The suspect was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he currently is in stable condition.
The investigation into the circumstances of the alleged bank robbery and the police-involved shooting is ongoing. The investigation into the bank robbery is being conducted by Everett Police, State Police assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney's Office and the FBI Bank Robbery Task Force. The police-involved shooting will be investigated by the DA’s office, for a justifiability determination, per protocol.
These charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
The prosecutor who arraigned the defendant is Assistant District Attorney David Rubin. The prosecutor assigned to this case is Assistant District Attorney Elizabeth Dunigan.
