Statement on Westford Fatal Collision

WESTFORD – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Westford Chief of Police Thomas McEnaney have confirmed that the female struck by a motor vehicle in a parking lot in Westford today has died.

The preliminary investigation suggests that at a female in her 50s was at the back of her motor vehicle in a parking lot at Market Basket in Westford. A second motor vehicle, while parking, struck the female’s car causing her vehicle to roll backwards pinning her underneath. The driver remained on scene.

No further information will be released pending notification of next of kin.

This incident is being investigated by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, the Westford Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and no charges have been filed.
